Returning from self-exile, ceasing to reject one's innate nature. All you can do is lay there, with everyone else, as a part of humankind. Every experience is unique and thus insignificant. No true self, floating in time. The burden of consciousness heavy on the mind. Existential pain that can not end.
No ataraxy, no rest. The impossibility of hope accepted.
lyrics
I
descend
the mountainside
Into the woods
Now evergreen
A graveyard
As far as the eye can see
I hear my kin
how they breathe
More bone than flesh
Yet they seem at peace
I find a tree
Like I, withered still
Laying at its roots
I start to sink
As I lay
Here at our end
I see nothing
But the roots around my head
They writhe
under my skin
They writhe
wrapped around my spine
No sense of self
No sense of time
Only pain
Unable to die

It's hard to pick a favourite track. This is the only album i have so far deemed as "perfect", where every track, even the intro, is just a masterpiece in its own right. From the hard hitting Perturbator's Theme to the emotional title track, its 68 minutes of perfection. 10/10. connivingkhajiit
